My Review

Getting engaged was the easy part.

It was refreshing to read about an arranged marriage (orchestrated by a caring guardian) between two people actually suited for each other.

Although I did agree with Cosmo’s points when Cordelia wishes they’d been raised differently, her other relatives intentionally embarrassing her in front of Oliver still felt uncalled for.  It would have been one thing if they were trying but making mistakes out of inexperience. Their doing it on purpose felt rather inconsiderate. 

Thankfully, their antics only last for about the first third of the book, and Cosmo does acknowledge that Cordy’s concerns are valid (the main problem was her approach).

Oliver was thankfully a very easygoing man, making him a good match for Cordy and her eccentric family. His story about when he first fell for her was both hilarious and sweet.

While Cordy’s worries were understandable, I’m glad she learned to trust Oliver as he proved time and time again that he wouldn’t look down on or judge her.

Looking forward to reading more about the other Densleys — especially Imogen and Cosmo.
