BookDescription
“A bluestocking heiress. The second son of a duke. And a medieval mystery that might school them both in love.
When Beatrice Dennison discovers a rare book in her grandmother’s library, she enlists Cambridge academic Lord Henry Tisdale to help translate it. But the centuries‑old text holds more than history — it draws them into long days in the library, whispered discoveries, and a partnership neither expected.
As they work side by side, Tris and Harry must face meddling family, academic rivals, and an attraction that threatens everything they’ve built on opposite sides of the Atlantic. When the truth about the manuscript forces a choice, they must decide whether to cling to their carefully ordered lives — or risk everything for a once‑in‑a‑lifetime love.”

My Review
A medieval manuscript brought them together. But a literal ocean separates their homes.
Although they had opposing personalities, Tris and Harry shared a love of history. And what starts as a research partnership soon deepens into a mutual attraction.
I always prefer when an opposites attract couple have a few things in common. It makes the relationship feel more natural.
Both characters show how much they’ve grown over the course of the story by doing something they wouldn’t have done at the start.
Tris’ attitude toward getting married slowly changed the more time she spent with Harry, a man who respected and accepted her.
She was even willing to make some sacrifices in order to be with him (though it was ultimately unnecessary).
Harry made a mistake, admitted it, and realized that he didn’t need to prove his worth. A clear conscience and honest work were what really mattered.
This realization allowed him to finally stand up for himself and laugh off unwarranted criticism.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. All opinions expressed are my own.

“When had she started finding Harry Tisdale attractive enough to notice the flecks in his irises.“

“Tris gave Harry a cheeky grin. ‘You do realize, Professor, you become quite animated when lecturing. It’s almost…endearing.’“

“‘…it doesn’t sound like enough to keep your mind busy.’ He searched her face. ‘Your amazing mind, I might add.’
Her breath caught in her chest. It was, by far, the nicest compliment she’d ever received.“
